Pelagic capture fishery contributes a substantial amount to the total annual landing of fresh fish in Brunei Darussalam. In 1996, a two-phase pelagic survey estimated a total biomass of 15,320 m.t. and a potential yield of 7,660 m.t. from the EEZ. This paper presents the status of exploitation of the small pelagic resources, some biological aspects of the stocks and management measures.en
