Report on the Workshop for Developing Questionnaire on the Current Status of Existing Fisheries Statistics and Information or Relevant System in AMSs
Abstract
SEAFDEC/MFRDMD organized The Workshop for Developing Questionnaire on the Current Status of Existing Fisheries Statistics and Information or Relevant System in AMSs funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) from 24 to 26 December 2024 in H Elite Design Hotel, Kota Bharu, Malaysia. This workshop was attended by representatives from the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOFM) – Headquarters; Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) Kampung Acheh, FRI Batu Maung; resource persons from the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT); Chief, Special Departmental Coordinator, and officials from SEAFDEC/MFRDMD. The list of participants appears as Annex 1.
Description
The Chief of SEAFDEC/MFRDMD, Mr. Abd Haris Hilmi Ahmad Arshad, officiated the workshop. In his speech, he welcomed all the participants to The Workshop for Developing Questionnaire on the Current Status of Existing Fisheries Statistics and Information or Relevant Systems in AMSs. He briefly explained the workshop agenda, starting with the presentation from resource persons and representatives from DOFM and then developing the questionnaires. Lastly, the conclusion and way forward sessions for the last day of the workshop. Mr Abd Haris Hilmi also thanked the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) for supporting this project. The agenda of this workshop appear as Annex 2.
