Abstract
SEAFDEC/MFRDMD organized The Regional Hybrid Kick-off Meeting for the Implementation and Assessment of ASEAN Regional Plan of Action for Management of Fishing Capacity funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) from 28 to 29 October 2024 in Grand Alora Hotel, Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. The meeting was attended online by focal persons from Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam, while in-person attendance included representatives from the Department of Fisheries Malaysia (DOFM) Headquarters, Department of Marine Fisheries Sarawak, Department of Fisheries Sabah, Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) Kampung Acheh, FRI Bintawa, resource persons from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), as well as the Chief, Deputy Chief, Special Departmental Coordinator, and officials from SEAFDEC/ MFRDMD.
Description
Project Coordinator, Ms. Mazalina Ali presenting the Introduction to the Implementation and Assessment of ASEAN Regional Plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity Project. She introduced the ASEAN Regional plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity project (RPOA Capacity). She outlined the six key outputs and outcomes of the project, along with activities that have been or will be implemented over the two-year project period, and shared the schedule of planned activities. Ms. Mazalina expressed her hope for strong cooperation from the ASEAN Member States (AMSs).
